Yeah right.... as soon as I wrote that I have no plans to produce another Heston. I realised that there might actually be a serious modern use for such an aircraft. What if someone built it a bit like a Piper PA-48, but not quite? Maybe there'd also be uses where the main point isn't to pound rebels into submission.

Sooo, I've made 6 different varieties of Heston aircraft... I have no immediate plans to produce more of those but you never know. What next? Don't know yet.

I finally managed to do something that isn't a Spitfire: the Heston Dragon Mk 3 (fav.me/d5hbch7) which is an interceptor based on the ill-fated Napier-Heston Racer prototype from the real world. Sooo, now I'm thinking that Heston Aircraft Company didn't leave it at that. Supermarine, Hawker, de Havilland, Messerschmitt, Focke-Wulf, North American, MiG, and so on, didn't stop when they had one successful design flying. Surely there'd also be civilian interest in Heston's aircraft, once they were phased out of military service...

The Seafire 48 what-if was 5 months ago ... and all I've been posting since then is variations on Seafires and Spitfires (and a few low quality airshow photos). Some may have guessed that I like the look of late model Spitfires. I wanted to see if I could create modifications, or new combinations of existing features, that would please my eye even more. The result? I've got a few design features that I love, I made a pretty weird one, and some of the color schemes aren't too bad... So I'm glad I made the Spits. Execution of the drawings? I never demanded to be called an artist :)

My Seafire 47 tracing (in my Scraps) turned into a Seafire 48, used by the Finnish Navy which has never seriously contemplated aircraft carriers, In Real Life.

I'm pretty sure there's possibilities for other things in the Seafire line drawing. I'll get back to it. Either sooner or later.

Some progress with Inkscape... Yesterday, I convinced myself I can draw lines. Now I've got some coloring done too. Trial and error :) Some areas of the "Serbian MiG-32" are patched together with chewing gum. Next time I need to try a more structured approach.

I'm trying to get the hang of drawing with Inkscape. Looks like I can make straight and curved lines and some shapes. I traced parts from a couple of concept drawings for Russian fighters. Then I started modifying, connecting, and extrapolating. And put it in my Scraps:

It doesn't look totally wrong to me, so I think I'll work on it a bit more. Maybe even try to color it.
